Our womens kickboxing class is adding 2 nightly classes! Coach Tom Gallicchio will be teaching the classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8pm. This is in addition to our morning classes, Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at 1030am. The new schedule start this Tuesday, March 3rd.

At the Ring of Combat, Greg Soto defeated Sean Forman via choke, while Jay Isip fell a little bit short in the 2nd round after a great 1st round!

The very next night at Asylum Fight League, our amateurs both brought home wins! Max won via 1st round arm bar and Pete won by unanimous decision.

What a great weekend!

And now its back to work. Our BJJ competition team will be competing in the Grapplers Quest on March 7th, while the fight team has already been booked for fights late March and into April.

Coach Kurt submitted his opponant, Rob Emerson with a rear naked choke in the 2nd round of his lightweight bout this past Saturday in Tampa at UFC Fight Night 17. In other fight action...the previous night, February 6th in Atlantic City 4 of our fighters represented the team at the WCA. Lester Caslow and Steve DeAngelis came away with the the wins, while Kevin Roddy and Tom Gallicchio fought 2 hard battles, but came up a little bit short this time. Coach Kurt is ready to go to battle this Saturday at UFC Fight Night 17 vs a very game Rob Emerson. He'll have a great team of guys with him including his boxing coaches Mickey Red Skowronski, Nettles Nasser as well as Miguel Torres and Kenny Florian helping guiding him to victory. Starting Tuesday, February 10th morning BJJ classes will begin! The adult class will be for all BJJ levels and will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 11am.

Be sure to pick up a new schedule at the front desk!

The next few weeks will see the Kurt Pellegrino MMA fight team busy in action! All the guys have been training intensely and are ready for battle. Attached is a picture of the fight team when Kenny 'SuperFlo' Florian was in town training. First up is our head kettlebell instructor, Greg Killian. He is taking on Dan Stittgen this Friday night, January 23rd at Extreme Challenge, at the Tropicana in Atlantic City. Monte Cox has put on a great card and it will be a great night of fights.

Next up on Friday,February 6th, World Cagefighting Alliance presents 4 KP MMA fighters! The fight is being held at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The card features 'Sir' Tom Gallicchio vs Rich Ashkar, Kevin 'K Rod' Roddy vs Charles Oliveira, 'Sugar' Steve DeAngelis vs Felipe Arantes and Lester Caslow vs Joe Camacho.

The very next night, Saturday February 7th, Coach Kurt takes on Rob Emerson at UFC Fight Night 17 in Tampa Florida! Many students, teamates, family, and friends are heading down to Florida, but those staying behind will be rooting for Caoch Kurt that night. The fights are set to air on Spike TV at 9pm, EST.

Then just a few short weeks later on Friday, February 20th The Ring of Combat will feature 2 KPMMA fighters. Greg Soto will take on Sean Forman and Jay Isip will take on Nabih at the Tropicana in Atlantic City.

Last, but certainly not least our very own amateur fighters will be fighting on Saturday February 21st at the Asylum Fight League 11 at Fort Dix. 'Pistol' Pete Burdge will be taking on Adam Rosello and 'Mad' Max Bercznyak will take on Mike Marco.

WEC champ, Miguel Torres is here helping coach Kurt prepare for his upcoming UFC fight on February 7th. Miguel comes in just as UFC #1 lightweight contender Kenny "Super Flo" Florian leaves. Kenny was here for a while also helping coach Kurt get ready for his fight. Here's a great picture from one night this week, as Coach Kurt and Coach Miguel taught the BJJ class. The WRAT radio station is hosting its 2009 Men's Expo on Saturday January 24th at the Asbury Convention Center from 1pm -6pm. Coach Kurt will be there signing autographs and taking pictures for the majority of the day.
