Over the past two weekends, Kurt Pellegrino MMA had seven fighters compete in Atlantic City. 5 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw...not a bad couple weeks!! Here are the results:

This past Monday evening in BJJ class, Coach Kurt promoted "Super Dave" to his long awaited, and well deserved brown belt! David has been a student of Coach Kurts for many years. He walked into Pellegrino MMA in Toms River in the year 2000, knowing nothing about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and looking for some guidence as a young high school student. Today, David boasts an impressive resume, including a National Championship award in 2004. He has learned many life lessons thru the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that has now enabled him to run a successful Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program for kids, as he passes on the lessons he has learned thru the years from Coach Kurt. David has been the instructor of our childrens BJJ program for almost one year and it is hugely successful! We could not be prouder of all that David has accomplished.

Congratulations David!! One step closer to that black belt...

A huge congratulations to Officer Kevin Carter on a well deserved purple belt!! Coach Pellegrino promoted Kevin last week. You can check out a few pictures from that evening in the 'Adult BJJ Promotions' photo gallery.

Once again, hard work and dedication pays off. Congrats to Kevin!

Tom Gallicchio (pictured) fought this past Saturday at UMMAXX 7 in Ohio and secured a first round triangle submission against Marcus Ajian!

Pete Burdge has improved his amateur record to 3-0, with a unanimous decision win over a very game TSK fighter, Adam Rosello.

Congrats to both guys! Way to start off the fight team's winning streak at 2-0!!

Next up... Craig Thieme fighting Anthony Cruz at Asylum Fight League 16 on May 16th at Club Abyss!

A very exciting summer is soon upon us! KP MMA fight team will be representing with 11 (yes ELEVEN!) fighters fighting in the next 5 weeks, both amateur and pro. More news to come regarding the fight dates, locations, and tickets!

Also, our very own Coach Pellegrino will be preparing for his UFC 101 bout against Josh Neer on August 8th. The very best fighters in the MMA world will be here training with Coach Kurt at the academy! Stayed tuned for updates...

On a side note, Coach Pellegrino mentioned during promotions last night that John Barrett not only competed in last weekends NAGA Championships, but that he swept thru the intermediate no gi division and was actually asked NOT to compete in the white belt gi division by the NAGA staff! John joined the team just 7 months ago and he truely deserved that blue belt. Congrats again!

This passed weekend our competition team competed at NAGA. A big congratulations goes out to the team for all their hard work. The following students brought home medals. Once again, those who work the hardest, get the best reward! Congrats!
